50

Teams on stage each year

Nine communities across eight districts: Serian, Semaba, Tarat, Tambirat, Rebak, Kuching, Samarahan and Baram. The 49 are public-school partners; five private and international schools run weekly classes alongside them. Outreach since 2017; the SCIENCE convention every year since 2018.

Our approach

Three things a club needs. We bring all three.

Hardware that works, lessons already written, and a stage to aim for. The teacher's job is to run the class; the rest is ours.

01

The kit arrives ready.

Every level gets the hardware it needs, configured and tested before term. Nothing to source, nothing to assemble on the first day.

02

The lessons are already written.

Plan, slides, assignment, and free training each term. A teacher with no STEM background can run lesson one, because they are not the one writing it.

03

The year has somewhere to go.

We run the competitions and the annual convention, and your students enter them — so the year ends on a stage rather than in a drawer.

TLC STEM Club

Start a STEM Club at your school. Free.

Any teacher can register. The school pays nothing, the teacher pays nothing, and the first term's materials are already written.

Courses: Software Development · Hardware Development · 3D Modelling & Printing (Prototyping) · Agentic AI · App & Web Development.

The school year

Eight months, three phases, one finished prototype.

Term one is hardware. Term two is science done on that hardware. Term three is a case, a mechanism and a print. At the end, the student has a working object and a record of how it was made.

Months 1–4

Computer Engineering

Electronics, sensors, actuators and algorithmic thinking, on the level's own kit.

Months 5–6

Integrated Sciences

Biology, physics and chemistry, measured with the hardware from phase one.

Months 7–8

3D Design & Prototyping

Enclosures and mechanisms designed, printed and assembled into something that works.

Tertiary & advanced

Tertiary students work on agentic AI: systems that reason, plan and act across web, app and product development.

STEM Toolbox · Ranks

Six ranks. One badge wall your child will want to finish.

Every class ends in something you can check: a quiz, a project, a presentation, a competition. Those become badges on the student's STEM Toolbox — the portal account they get when they join — and they never expire.

Ranks are not prizes for showing up. Each one is a specific piece of work.

Our own AI

The AI in our classrooms is ours. That matters more than it sounds.

We do not resell someone else's chatbot. Our model, our coding agent, our guardrails — which means student work stays inside a system we control, the cost does not move with the exchange rate, and it runs on the hardware the school already owns.

The model

Ask a micro:bit question in plain English; it answers like a teacher, not a search engine.

Our private language model for STEM: a coding assistant that answers in the language of micro:bit, Arduino and Python, guarded to stay safe and on-task.

why does my ESP32 reset when the servo moves? → The servo's inrush current browns out the 3.3 V rail. Power it from a separate supply and add a bulk capacitor near the driver.

Open Spark →

The agent

learningcode

Your child's coding assistant, on their own laptop. It reads their files and fixes their mistakes — and the school can cap how much it is used.

A terminal coding agent running on Spark. It reads files, runs commands and edits code on the learner's machine, with per-class quota and seat controls.

$ cd ~/robot-project && learningcode > why is the servo jittering? ✓ read servo.py: the delay() call blocks the PWM refresh

How it works →

One ecosystem — our model, our agent, our classroom. No third-party AI in the loop.

FAQ

The questions we actually get asked.

How much does it cost?

Starting a club is free, and teacher membership is free. Student club membership is RM20 per month. Weekly classes at our Saradise centre are from RM100 per month, and the first class is free.

What ages do you teach?

Primary 4 and 5, Secondary 1 to 5, and an adult track from 17.

Can my child try a class first?

Yes. The first class is free — message us on WhatsApp and we will book it.

Where are the classes?

Weekly classes run at L2 SL7 Saradise, Jalan Stutong, Kuching. Events and workshops run at Galacity (L3 SL129, Jalan Tun Jugah) and at partner venues.

Does my school need to buy anything to start?

No. Registration and teacher training are free. Kits are optional and member-priced, and a club can start with the hardware the school already has.

What happens after the eight months?

Most students finish the year with a working prototype, a portfolio and a rank. Some come back as community leaders, sponsors or teachers; a few of our own team started as students.

Which schools does The Learning Curve work with?

Eight districts across Sarawak — Serian, Semaba, Tarat, Tambirat, Rebak, Kuching, Samarahan and Baram — plus weekly classes at Lodge, St Joseph's and Treehouse Academy.

Do I need to know anything about STEM to teach it?

No. The lesson plan, slides and assignment are written for you, and training is free. Most of our teachers started with no micro:bit experience.
